A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytani 'r-rajeem. Bismillahi 'r-Rahmani 'r-Raheem.
Ati`ullaha wa ati`u 'r-Rasoola wa ooli 'l-amri minkum.
Obey Allah, obey the Prophet, and obey those in authority among you. (4:59)
As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh
Madad yaa Sayyyidee, yaa Rasoolullah, yaa Shafee`i 'l-mudhnibeen. Al-madad, min as-haab al-madad, hum as-haab al-imdaad, fa-yamadoona bi madadihi inshaa-Allah They are the one that have the support. And we are asking those who have support, which is Prophet (s), to support us, not only now, but in every moment of our life. O Muslims, mu’mins that are here today, and I am here today on Thursday in this house, we are reading salawaat on Prophet (s). The Burdah Shareef that Imam al-Busayri (q) wrote is not really his poetry. It is his poetry by tongue and by pen, but really it is not his; it is the poetry of the one who owns it, the one who inspired it to his heart, which is Sayyidina Muhammad (s). He was connecting his heart with the heart of Prophet (s) and receiving these revelations from the heart of Prophet (s) to recite.
He was reading it like when Jibreel (a) came with wahi to Sayyidina Muhammad (s), what did he say? It was the first wahiyy, iqraa, “Read.” Prophet (s) said, “What am I going to read?” Jibreel (a) said, “Read.” “What yaa Jibreel (a) I am going to read?” We have to understand that behind every word there is a secret, especially the words of Holy Qur’an. Every letter has a secret. “Read,” and Prophet (s) said, “From what do you want me to read? I can read the knowledge of before and after. I know the knowledge of today, I know the knowledge of the past, I know the knowledge of the future. So, what do you want me to read?” And then Sayyidina Jibreel (a) said, Iqra bismi rabbik alladhee khalaq, khalaqa 'l-insaana min `alaq, it means read the secret. “Read from the secret of Creation, through the Name of Allah (swt).” Bismi rabbik alladhee. You cannot read without ismullah. For you, yaa Muhammad, you cannot read without ismullah. But for us, we cannot read without ismun nabi (s), because we are far from Allah (swt). Although we are far from Prophet (s), but Prophet (s) is reaching us.
So, "yaa Muhammad, read in My Name, then all secrets will open for you.” That is what we call it ar-rabita, the connection. You have two pipes and you connect them together with a socket, which is the rabita; without the socket, there is no connection. The connection for us is Prophet (s). Or we can go lower one level and say our connection is our shaykh, everyone’s shaykh, the guide. The shaykh’s socket or connection is Prophet (s) and Prophet’s (s) connection is Allah (swt). So say, "yaa Muhammad!" When you put `ismullah with everything, you can open any door.
Prophet said:
"Allah gave me `uloom al-awwaleen wa ’l-akhireen,
knowledge of before and after.”
Prophet (s) didn’t open all the knowledge; how much did he open? A little bit. What is the Knowledge of Before, which “before”? `Ulumul Awwaleen, who are awwaleen? Are awwaleen human beings only? No, Awwaleen means any living species that Allah created from ins, jinn, animals, angels; Allah gave the knowledge of that to Prophet (s). And Prophet (s) must have knowledge of the universes and every star in every place in our galaxy or other galaxies, because Allah gave him `uloom al-awwaleena wa 'l-akhireen.
He said to him, Iqraa, "Read," bismi rabbee, "in the Name of Allah." Without His Name, no one can read. Imam al-Busayri (q) knew that reality. He was connecting his heart with Prophet (s). And then read as much as you like yaa imaam from the heart of Prophet (s). He read the burdah that came to us, that is from the heart of Prophet (s). That’s why he came through one of the verses of that poetry which says Muhammadun basharun wa laysa ka 'l-bashari. He knew the reality, that, yes he is a human being, but not like us, meaning there is big difference. There is a difference between his physical body and ours. His physical body is mixed, it is angelic heavenly and earthly. Allah first created the light of Muhammad (s). “I was a prophet when Adam (a) was between clay and water,” or “between soul and body.” It might be that Prophet (s) owns some other nations, some other creations. “I was a prophet,” Prophet (s) owned whom? He didn’t
