A`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. Bismillah´r-Rahmaani'r-Raheem. Alhamdulillahi r-Rabbil 'Alameen, was-salaatu was-salaamu 'alayka ashraf al-mursaleen Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadin wa `ala aalihi was-saahbihi ajma`een.
As-salaamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi ta`ala wa barakaatuh.
O Muslim brothers and sisters! It is an honor for me to be with you. Allah (swt) said in the Holy Qur'an describing the Prophet (s):
قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاء رَبِّهِ فَلْيَعْمَلْ عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَلَا يُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَةِ رَبِّهِ أَحَدًا
Qul innama anā basharun mithlukum yuhā ilayya annama ilaahukum ilaahin waahidun. Faman kaana yarju liqaa Rabbihi fa 'l-ya`mal `amalaan saalihaan wa laa yushrik bi-`ibaadati Rabbihi ahadaan.
Say, "I am but a man like yourselves, (but) the inspiration has come to me that your God is one God. Whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness and in the worship of his Lord admit no one as partner." (18:110)
Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is teaching us humbleness through this revelation. This does not need any discussion but for sure Sayyidina Muhammad (s) is not like us. We are pebbles, as Imam al-Busayri said, and Prophet (s) is a diamond. I am here today, not as a humble person but trying to be at the threshold of the Prophet (s). I'm trying as much as possible to be nothing in your presence. I am trying to remember that without their support, we cannot say anything. Without the support of awliyaullah who receive their support from the Prophet (s), we are not even an ant. Because an ant is ordered and its movement is by order, but our movement is through our partial will, which Allah gave to us. An ant doesn't commit sins but we do. An ant, in the spiritual sense, does not have sins, but we do. Allah says in the Holy Qur'an:
وَلَقَدْ كَرَّمْنَا بَنِي آدَمَ
wa laqad karamna Bani Adam
We have honored the Children of Adam. (17:70)
We have honor above any other Creation, because this honor was given to us by Allah (swt). We cannot honor ourselves, nor can people honor us. If we do not get our honor from the heavens, we are nothing.
Allah (swt) gave awliyaullah that honor because He said:
وَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
wa lillahi 'al-`izzatu wa li rasoolihi wa l’il-mumineen.
But honor belongs to Allah and His Messenger, and to the Believers.” (63:8)
So awliyaullah are mu'mins, but are we mu'mins? We don't know. Allah (swt) said:
Qaalati 'l-a`arabu aamanna qul lam tu'minoo wa laakin qooloo aslamnaa wa lammaa yadkhuli 'l-eemanu fee quloobikum wa in tutee`oo 'Llaaha wa rasoolahu laa yalitkum min a`amaalikum shayan inna Allaha Ghafoorun Raheemun.
To become a believer, you need a lot of knowledge. We are Muslims yes, but are we believers? We don't know. So since we don't know, then we have to turn to someone who knows. Where are those who know today? I'm asking awliyaullah, as they are hearing with their special hearing and vision. Where are they? This is from someone who is nothing between all these human beings, but emotionally we are requesting of them. What are they waiting for? Are they waiting until they see the Ummat an-Nabee under the feet? I'm not speaking to individuals, I am speaking to them (watching on Sufilive). Allah said in the Holy Qur'an:
أَلا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاء اللّهِ لاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
`alaa inna awliyaaullaahi laa khawfun `alayhim wa laa hum yahzanoon.
Lo! Verily upon the friends of Allah no fear comes, nor shall they grieve. (10:62)
Wisemen, sages, saints have nothing to fear or be sad about. Allah (swt) dressed them with His Beauty and majestic powers. Allah gave them authority. Why are you leaving us, running like rabbits when you have the authority, O awliyaaullah? We are calling you, as we are calling Sayyidina Muhammad (s). (Mawlana stands.) Yaa Rasoolullah, thousands of praises upon you! For sure we can call on the Prophet (s) and we can call on Allah (swt), as He said:
وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ
wa qaala rabbukum ud`oonee astajib lakum inna alladheena yastakbiroona `an `ibadatee sayadkhuloona jahannama daakhireen.
And your Lord says,"Call on Me; I will answer your (prayer), but those who are too arrogant to serve Me will surely find themselves in Hell in humiliation!" (40:60)
But do our voices reach them? Our voice first reaches the one who is responsible for us. If our mouth or our breath is filthy, angels cannot approach us. When we say, Allahu akbar, and enter salaat, if our hearts are dirty, our prayers will be stuck between Earth and the heavens; it needs an angel to take it up to the Presence of Allah (swt). Of course we are not clean but we try to be clean. We hope that Allah (swt) will give us cleansing but, unfortunately, we continue doing sins. If we are clean today, after one hour we become, I don't like to use the word "dirty", but unclean. So how will our request reach?
Allah only likes things that are pure. When Sayyidina Muhammad (s) was in Mi'raj, Jibreel (a) offered him khamar (wine) and milk, and he took only the milk, choosing the purest option. The Prophet (s) is pure and only likes what is pure. You cannot mix what is dirty with something that is pure. Awliyaullah cleaned themselves. Today there is a machine to measure stones. If it is a rock it does not make a sound, as it is dead, although in Islam it is not considered dead! Wa wa in min shayin illa yusabbihu bi-hamdihi, "Verily everything is praising Allah." Even stones and pebbles are praising Allah (swt), so be careful of stepping on them.
There was a wali who used to make istighfaar for every step he was taking when going to pray because if he stepped on sand, pebbles, carpet or anything else, it was praising Allah (swt), as mentioned in Holy Qur'an:
تُسَبِّحُ لَهُ السَّمَاوَاتُ السَّبْعُ وَالأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ وَإِن مِّن شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدَهِ وَلَـكِن لاَّ تَفْقَهُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورًا
tusabbihu lahu as-samawatu as-sab`u wa 'l-ardu wa man feehinna wain min shayin illa yusabbihu bi-hamdihi wa laakin laa tafqahoona tasbeehahum innahu kaana Haleeman, Ghafoora.
The Seven Heavens and the Earth, and all beings therein, declare His glory! There is not a thing but celebrates His praise, and yet you understand not how they declare His glory! Verily, He is Oft-Forbearing, Most Forgiving! (17:44)
The Prophet (s) was hearing the praising of mountains when he was passing through them. Prophet Dawud (a) could hear, anbiyaullah (prophets) could here, awliyaullah can hear! Allah (swt) said to the Prophet in a revealed hadith:
My servant does not cease to approach Me through voluntary worship until I will love him. When I love him, I will become the ears with which he hears, the eyes with which he sees, the hand with which he acts, and the tongue with which he speaks.
What more do we want than the love of Allah (swt)? There are many acts of voluntary worship, too many to count. Awliyaullah can hear and they are hearing us now. They are taking their secrets from the Prophet (s), who is observing what we are doing in every moment.
Hayyaatee khayrun lakum tuhaddithoona wa yuhaddathu lakum wa wafaatee khayrun lakum tu`radu `alayya a`amaalukum famaa ra'aytu min khayrin hamidtullaha `alayh, wa ma ra'aytu min sharrin istaghfartu Allaha lakum.
My life is a great good for you; you will relate about me and it will be related to you. And my death is a great good for you; your actions will be exhibited to me, and if I see goodness I will praise Allah, and if I see evil I will ask forgiveness of Him for you.
How many Muslims do we have and how many came before us? Some `ulama say Ummat an-Nabee is only (comprised of) Muslims, but everyone is divided between Ummat ad-Da`wah and Ummat al-Ijaabah. Those who accepted Islam became Muslims and are Ummat al-'Ijaba. Ummat al-Da'wah are those who have not responded to the call of Islam. They say there are 400 billion who responded. Imagine, the Prophet Muhammad (s) is observing the actions of 400 billion people in every moment! If you are Muslim, you will be cleaned. Do not think that if you sleep you are not cleaned: you will be cleaned by the Prophet (s)!
Why did Allah (swt) invite Sayyidina Muhammad in the Mi'raj to qaaba qawsayni aw adna, (two bows'-length or nearer)? What He gave him of power, no one can understand! So where are these awliyaullah that we love and respect? Are they sleeping or are they working? The Prophet (s) is watching not only 400 billion, but trillions of people from Adam (a) up to the Day of Judgment.
Adam wa man doonahu tahta liwaaee yawma 'l-qiyaamah wa laa fakhr...
Adam (and who is below Adam) will be under my flag on the Day of Judgment, and I say it without pride...
Today you can reach millions of people in one second; when you send an email, everyone receives it and all of them are under one server, funneled in that pipe. Anything you send has to go through that server, and it is observed. Allah (swt) gave Sayyidina Muhammad (s) knowledge of what was before, from the beginning of Creation, and after. What was before? Do you think it means only from Adam (a)? Allah (swt) gave him knowledge from the beginning of Creation. That is why he (s) said, "What Allah created first was my light," because it is going to be a witness for everything else. What did He give him after? Eternity. There is no beginning or end to what Allah (swt) gave the Prophet (s) of knowledge and with that knowledge he is happy to be Allah's servant. That's why the Prophet (s) is always in ascension, there is not only one mi`raaj. Every moment, before and after his life, he has a mi`raaj. From wherever he (s) arrived, he has been ascending more. Every ascension is double of what he was given before.
No one can describe Allah's greatness! Sometimes people say takbir, "Allahu akbar!" How much akbar (great)? There is no way the mind is going to understand, whenever you say akbar, Allah's Beautiful Names and Attributes are akbar, reality. Don't mix His Essence with His Beautiful Names and Attributes. You cannot understand His Reality, so don't touch that part. No one can understand the Unique, Holy Reality of His Essence. The Prophet (s) is taking from the infinite numbers of Allah's Beautiful Names and Attributes coming from that Essence. No one knows the reality of that Essence except Allah. It is not what these square-headed people think. Awliyaullah have real knowledge and knowledge of dunya is nothing to them; dunya is not worth more than the wing of a mosquito.
The Prophet (s) said, "If Allah guides one person through you, it is better than the wealth of the whole dunya." Did you try to guide someone? They didn't. It includes yourself, so guide yourself! That is a khitaab, an advice to the soul. Guide at least yourself, it is better than the wealth of dunya. Today people try to guide others to become Muslims, which is good, but, O Muslims, try to guide yourself and your relatives first. If you don't look at yourself, you are lost.
The Prophet (s) asked some of his Sahaaba (r) to describe the one who is poor, man al-muflis. They said, "Yaa Rasoolullah, the one who is poor is the one who is bankrupt." How many here are bankrupt? Many. He said, "No, the faqeer, poor, is one who has no `amal (good deeds)." Because dunya is not important. Sahaaba asked, "Even if he prays and fasts?" He said, "Even if he prays and fasts, still he has no `amal." How about us? We are lost. We are praying and fasting, but we have no `amal. Why? Because we are backbiting each other!
On the Day of Judgment Allah (swt) will call upon two people to judge them: one is the oppressed and the other is the oppressor. Allah (swt) will ask the oppressed one, "Forgive your brother, the zhaalim, oppressor." He will say, "Yaa Rabbee, I will not forgive him! I want my rights! He hurt me too much in dunya. I tried my best." You can find this too much within families today. For what? For money or inheritance. Allah will judge them on the Day of Judgment. Allahu a`alam, Allah knows best how the oppressor can say "no" to Allah (swt), but Allah will give him that power in order to show justice. So He will take from the hasanaat of the oppressor and give it to the oppressed. Allah will say, "Okay?" He will say, "No, yaa Rabbee, he did too much to me." So Allah (swt) will take more of the good deeds until the oppressor has no more `amal left. Allah will ask again, "Is it okay?" He will say, "No, yaa Rabbee, he hurt me a lot." Then Allah will take from the sayi'aat, the sins of that oppressed one, and put it on the oppressor until He has taken all the hasanaat from the oppressor, who will then enter Paradise.
We pray and fast, but we backbite and are oppressors even to ourselves! In another hadith there is an addition, in which Allah (swt) says to the oppressed one when He is sending him to Paradise, "What do you think if I give you such a paradise, but you have to forgive your brother?" He will say, "Yaa Rabbee, I forgive him," because he will get something that you cannot describe! Allah will save Ummat an-Nabee (s), but you don't want to stand in such a shaming position, sweating, and afraid; you want to go inside quickly and to be forgiven.
Yawma yafirru almaro min akheehi. Wa ummihi wa abeeh.
That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, and from his mother and his father. (80:34-35)
They will say, "Nafsee, nafsee, myself, myself! I don't care for anyone, save me." Only one will stand, only ONE (s) will stand and say, "Yaa Rabbee, I am not going to enter Paradise until my ummah enters first, and then I will enter."
O Muslims! You may have heard what we have just said before, but I am calling on awliyaullah to speak to us. We need an answer. We know they are there and we are requesting them. We are saying, yaa Sayyidee, yaa Rasoolullah, yaa Rahmatan li 'l-`alameen, give awliyaullah the authority to stand up, or else we are losers! In every event we speak, but we don't hear the many scholars around the world touching on this issue. Some awliyaullah speak about it, but the rest don't mention this issue completely. The rest only mention how to make a plan for ten years to come. There is not one person not planning for the coming ten, twenty, or thirty years. They are even planning for global warming! (laughter) If Allah (swt) wishes to take this whole world, there will be no hesitating to see if there is global warming or not! This whole universe of galaxies, Allah (swt) says will fold like a book and it will be finished! It will become thinner than a hair! Allah (swt) does not need to make the eye of a needle bigger, as He can put the whole Earth through it! He will fold this universe to show His Greatness!
O Muslims! Open up your minds to realize the Greatness of Allah (swt)! They are making plans for thirty, forty, fifty years but they don't think about death that could come tomorrow! They don't think about what will happen and what the Prophet (s) predicted through prophetic ahadeeth about the Last Days. He predicted they are approaching! Don't think that they are far away! Dajjal could be behind that wall! When the Prophet (s) spoke about the antichrist, Dajjal, Sahaaba (r) thought he was coming so soon that he was just behind the palm tree, and they were expecting him at any moment!
I will mention the predictions of the Prophet (s) that will make us aware, because people are not aware; all they want to do is eat and drink.
The Prophet (s) said, "The Day of Judgment will not come until that will happen. Men and women will be holding each other and walking in the streets." That is normal today but that is not the meaning. The hadith refers to when the male donkey is doing his affair with the female donkey in the streets! The Prophet (s) said it 1400 years ago. They are doing it not only in the streets but in the homes through cable TV and the Internet. What does that mean? It means that we are in the Last Days, we have become part of it. Yet, we are still fighting with each other as Muslims. Sayyidina `AbdAllah ibn `Umar ibn al-`As (r) said, "Is that really going to happen?" He was unable to digest it, he was astonished! Sayyidina Abu Bakr (r) believed, saying, sadaqta yaa Rasoolullah. The Prophet (s) said, "Yes, it is going to happen." How did the Prophet (s) know? Who gave him the information? He doesn't need anyone to give him information because Allah (swt) gave him everything.
Wa `allama aadama al-asmaa kullahaa thumma `aradahum `ala al-malaaikati fa-qaala anbioonee bi-asmaa-i haaulaa-i in kuntum saadiqeen.
And He taught Adam the nature of all things, then He placed them before the angels and said: "Tell Me the nature of these if you are right. (2:31)
Allah (swt) taught Adam (a) the names (complete knowledge) of all Creation because of the light of Sayyidina Muhammad (s) was on his forehead. The Prophet (s) knows. So this is what we are seeing today in the streets. Our Muslim children are even doing that, not caring for their parents. We are worried and crying over our children's behavior. O Muslims! Open your eyes to prophetic ahadeeth concerning the Last Days! There are many books in all the six aahadeeth collections. I am taking these ahadeeth from Wahhabi sources, so they cannot deny the written text and reported words of the Prophet (s).
Narrated by Haythami and Muslim, the Prophet (s) said, "I am giving an oath by the One in Whose Hands is my soul, that this ummah will not come to an end until a man will take the hand of a lady and sleep with her in the streets." It means in public, and they don't have shyness. "The best of this ummah, the `ulama, when they see that they will think to themselves, 'Oh, if only that lady was behind this wall, I would make an affair with her." The Prophet (s) predicted 1400 years ago that even the best among them would wish do be doing this, but they would feel shy from the rest of the community. Are we in such conditions, or not? How many `ulama do we hear about having these problems, here and overseas?
O Muslims! I am saying these things because we have to touch on these issues. There are many ahadeeth relating to the Last Days. The Prophet (s) said, "The Hour will not come until time will collapse. The year will become like a month. One month will become like one week. One week will become like one day. One day will become like one hour. One hour will become like the disappearance of light from a candle. Time will disappear." It used to take people one year to perform the Hajj, now it takes only one week, using airplanes. You start eating in summer the fruits of wintertime, and vice versa.
O Muslims! Teach your children that the Last Days are approaching, so be a good person and be a good member of the community. Don't be aggressors or enemies to everyone. It will not help you. Listen to what the Prophet (s) said and fill yourselves up with good manners. Don't give yourself the right to interfere in anything. Your parents are crying; they are seeing their children using violence, drugs and joining radical ideologies. For what, to make a few people happy? Please Allah (swt) and His Prophet (s)!
May Allah forgive us! May Allah bless us! May Allah (swt) keep us near the Prophet (s) and may awliyaaullah answer us! We are waiting and I don't know for how many days we are going to wait, but they are such beloved ones that they are always helping and supporting everyone who calls upon them. It is as Imam Ahmad (r) related that the Prophet (s) said, "If you are in a desert or jungle and you feel afraid, call upon the Abdaal (Substitutes), the RijaalAllah (men of Allah), and they will come to help you."
Wa min Allahi 't-tawfeeq, bi hurmati 'l-habeeb, bi hurmati 'l-Fatihah.
