Ask Your Lord to Grant Heavenly Knowledge
Sultan al-Awliya

23 February 2010 Lefke, Cyprus
Dastoor, madad. (Mawlana Shaykh stands.) La ilaaha illa-Llaah, la ilaaha illa-Llaah, la ilaaha illa-Llaah, Sayyidina wa Nabiyyina Muhammadun rasoolullah, sall-Allahu `alayhi wa sallam, zidhu yaa rabbee, `izzan wa sharafan, nooran wa surooran (Increase him in honor and nobility and light and happiness.) (Mawlana Shaykh sits.)
Salaama thumma salaamu `alayk, yaa Saahib al-Waqt, as-salaam` alayk, yaa Qutb al-Mutasarrif, wa rahmatullah wa barakaatuh.
As-salaamu `alaykum whom they are attending our humble majlis, meeting or association. Ask forgiveness from Allah Almighty, we must ask, we must ask. Marhaban! Marhaban fi 'd-dunya wa fi 'l-akhirah. Welcome! Welcome in this world and the Next. Allah gives you day-by-day from His endless blessing. Who they are attending and looking and asking to understand something, Allah blesses you endlessly. Who is not looking, they are going to be mahroom (deprived) and they are losing.
I am not Shakespeare; my English is market English. Therefore, we have a saying, "Whom they are going to be listening, they must be more clever than that one for understanding." Therefore, use your good understanding. Who is understanding something, they are coming empty and going full. Don't think anything else, only you are going to be listeners, so listen.
O our Salafi `ulamas! You are claiming that you are knowing so many things, eh? You know everything! If anyone asks you anything, you are giving an answer. I am saying that the Lord of Heavens is making me to speak. Accepting, or you are not accepting? How? On the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty will give His Judgment for His servants. When asking a question and that person not giving a real answer, He is saying, "Don't speak! You, his hands, say what he did." That one's hands are going to speak, to be witnesses. Their feet will be saying, "You say where he went." His Lord's speaking is truth, "You speak." And that person going to be surprising, "How I am going to speak?"
(Allah) has given us speech, (He) Who gives speech to everything. (41:21)
أَنطَقَنَا اللَّهُ الَّذِي أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
Antaqana 'Llahu 'Lladhee antaqa kullu shay,(Allah) has given us speech, (He) Who gives speech to everything. (41:21)
O Salafi `ulamas! If I am saying, how you are saying I am wrong, that the Lord is going to make me speak? I am always forgetting peoples' names, a hundred times I am saying, but I am going to forget, Salafi `ulamas. "Salafi," what does it mean? Salafi `ulamas knows, what is the meaning of salafi, like therapy; in therapy, salafi. (laughter) Salafi means "passed away." Salafi `ulama passed away; why you are saying "salafi"? Not passed away, not true--you must say (call yourselves) "Hadari (present)`ulama"! Don't say once again "salafi" because come tomorrow you will be taken away. Fear from the Lord of Heavens! Don't say (call yourselves) "Salafi `ulamas"; that passed away, but say, "Hadari `ulamas". They say, "Maybe we should try their knowledge," and that is important, but we should know your level of understanding, because levels of knowledge are endless, so which step you are on?
I know you are unhappy to be (called) "Salafi `ulamas", so I am changing now to "Hadari `ulamas" that perhaps you help people to remember hadrah, and Hadramawt. After hadrah comes mawt (death). Don't say once again (calling yourselves) "Salafi `ulamas". Saafaroo li 'l-akhirah, they travelled to the other world, passed away. What is your vision about yourselves? Those just passed away, but you are ready now. Therefore, you must say, "We are Hadari `ulama." Doesn't matter if you are swearing on yourself, it is not coming on me, I am just protected. laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billah. "There is no might or power save with Allah."
O Our Attenders! We must say among them are Hadari `ulamas also, and they are going to be much more happy when we say, "Hadari `ulamas, marhaban." Say "present `ulama", much more (appropriate) position for you! You must keep it now and you must understand, because levels are going up. Salafi `ulamas, no they reached their levels. Do you think after their levels are no (remaining) levels; muntaha, nihaayatu (ending)? Day-by-day, levels of understanding are getting up. (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sits.) The Seal of Prophets (s) was saying,
Those who do not respect our elders or show mercy to our young ones are not of us.
Is it true? The Seal of Prophets (s) was saying, whom they are not giving their high respects for those who are over their levels, may be physically old ones or through knowledge their levels are up. "He is not going to be from my ummah."
ليس من منا من لم يرحم صغيرنا و يعظم كبيرنا
Laysa minna man laa yarham sagheeranaa wa yu'azhzhim kabeeranaa. Those who do not respect our elders or show mercy to our young ones are not of us.
Is it true? The Seal of Prophets (s) was saying, whom they are not giving their high respects for those who are over their levels, may be physically old ones or through knowledge their levels are up. "He is not going to be from my ummah."
That is an endless Knowledge Ocean. Prophet's ahadeeth are for giving meaning endlessly. What we are understanding--3, 4, 5, 10 words--is it true? The Seal of Prophets (s) is granting knowledge that was granted to him. You can't do for a level of knowledge for the ahadeeth and say, "That is the level of meaning." no. ... Arabic ... no horizon there, but before that horizon you can find another one and another one and another one. Keep quiet! Don't tie yourselves by saying, "We are Salafi `ulamas." Why you are not reaching through endless Knowledge Oceans? Why you are not asking for more levels of understanding? Why you are keeping yourself on Salafi `ulamas' level of understanding? It is open, because the Seal of Prophets (s) always granted more and more. Allah (swt) said, s'al tu`ta, "Ask, you will be granted." (Ask, O my Habeeb!! Ask more and more, it will be granted.) Why they are coming and saying, "We are following Salafi `ulamas." The Seal of Prophets (s) said, "Who may understand." Understanding is a big grant from the Lord of Heavens, granted through heavens. We must ask them for new understandings that are never stopping, never going to be in limits!
Understanding is not a lake, but is an ocean, and such an ocean has no shore, it is so deep, yes. Prophet (s) was saying, laa burika fee sabihatin lam azid feehi `ilma, "(There is) no blessing for me in a day that I don't increase in knowledge." Sometimes I am understanding. People my age losing everything, but is such a grant for a sinner person to be granted such grants. I am remembering something when it is necessary. laa burika fee sabihatin lam azid feehi `ilma. The Seal of Prophets (s) is saying this, and he is asking his ummah that teaching daily, to try to reach from one level of understanding to another higher level, or it is going to be that day no barakah; it is wasted. You must try to learn more and more. I am not claiming I am knowing something, but what they are saying through the hearts.
O Hadari `ulama! What they are saying, what is your opinion--is it true or not true? min al-qalbi ila al-qalbi sabeela, "From heart-to-heart there is a connection." If it is not true, how you are reaching to your beloved one without any connection? Your beloved one may be in east and you may be in west, and to that beloved one there is a way though love, min al-qalbi ila al-qalbi sabeela.
O Hadari `ulama! Don't think that it is only one ocean, but countless oceans of knowledges and countless understandings and countless capacities for Man to accept from those oceans. And every ocean gives to him a different pleasure, a different heavenly lights that you will ask, hal min mazeed? "Is there any more?" You are never going to say, "Enough, enough." No, no, no, no.
And Man, that his being representive of the Lord of Heavens on Earth is not easy, but what has been granted from the Lord of Heavens no one knows: endlessly pleasure, endlessly understanding, endlessly lights granted to you. And a person asking to swim in an ocean or a sea, he likes to go much more, much more, much more. He is not going to be happy on the beach only, but he is asking to go inside much more. Oceans carrying people, saying, "Come, come, come." As long as he is alive, taking that one to a full enjoyment and that one swimming, swimming, and finally he is surrendering to death, drowning. When the ocean sees that one beginning to drown, making him to go out, saying, "We don't like that one! Get out, get out!" But those oceans are not like our oceans, calling and giving more pleasure and more protection, endlessly swimming through that oceans, giving much more pleasure, pleasement, much more satisfaction, enjoyment for him, not any danger. As much as he may enter our oceans or seas, it is not dangerous. Therefore, ask for more! Don't say like `ulamas, "we are saying 'salafi'." Don't say. You must ask from the inheritors, because knowledge must continue.
That is a heavenly rahmah, mercy. Mercy is granted and never-ending, never-ending. Therefore, when getting inside such an oceans through heavens, we are entering like a zero, then beginning to be one, two, three. Your size getting to be more wider, more wider, and you are getting to be much more bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger. But as much as you can be a big one, you are never going to be a whole ocean, and you will be so happy, so happy!
May Allah (swt) forgives us. SubhaanAllah. We are saying, a`oodhu billahi min ash-Shaytaani 'r-rajeem. O People! Run away from Shaytan, run away from shaytanic knowledge. It is not knowledge, subhaanallahi 'l-`Aliyyu 'l-`Adheem. And angels are not in need to eat and to drink. Eating and drinking is something for Mankind, to teach him also that who is getting connected with the material world, his value is going to be on the level of material level, and material level is always going to be in limits. Who his connection is going to be through heavenly beings, that connection is endless space. And as long as you are asking for more (knowledge), you are taking and you are never going to say, "enough, enough," as long as you are saying, hal min mazeed? And those people that had been receiving said, "Yes, yes, come in, get in, get in," and you will reach more and more and more. Your capacity to take from those oceans is endless! As much as you are asking, you have been granted and your capacity is getting bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger! But there is no end for bigness through the Heavenly Presence; it is never-ending. As much as you are entering, asking, granted, and those oceans are never coming less and you will never say, "enough, enough, enough, enough." And that is pleasure, yes, that is tajalli, manifestation from the Lord of Heavens.
His grant is oceans, and those oceans expand as much as the real servants of the Lord are really asking, going to be much more wider, going to be much more bigger, going to be much more pleasure, as much as they are entering! And that is something that only some signs may catch someones from people, whom they are belonging to heavens. They are in connection with heavenly beings. They are asking more, and their capacity never getting smaller, but going to be bigger bigger, bigger. And that person is going to be much more in pleasure, in pleasure, in pleasure.
May Allah forgive us. We are asking to bring something, but the Lord of Heavens granted that as much as the Seal of Prophets (s) is asking for his nation, it is granted for his honor. He shall be pleased. And asking for the holy night for the honor of the Seal of Prophets (s), asking for you to open the entrance to the oceans of Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem, O endless oceans running through Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. Allahu akbar. four rivers coming from Bismillahi 'r-Rahmaani 'r-Raheem. Huuuu, huuuuuu. Therefore, just I heard from some awliyas that if a person is asking to hear the deeply sound of those four paradise rivers, they put here (hands over ears) so you may listen, uuuuuuuu; if not listening, they are munaafiq. Hadari `ulamas , put your hands also, (covers ears with fingers). They can't carry much more than this.
O People! (Mawlana Shaykh sings a Turkish song:)
Yaa Muhammad canım arzular seni,
bütün hayatınızı o en sevgili en şanlı olana verin.
Rabbinin ilahi huzurunda şereflene verin.
Yaa Muhammad canım arzular seni.
Dost Muhammad canım pek sever seni.
O Muhammad, my soul desires you,
give all of your life to this One Who is the glorious
In the presence of your God; give it with honor.
O Muhammad, my soul loves you.
O Friend Muhammad, my soul desires you so much!
(Mawlana Shaykh stands.) Alfu salaat, alfu salaam yaa Muhammad! (Mawlana Shaykh sits.)
Fatihah.
Even that one what coming here from mercy (points to cat at his feet), that one is going to be happy, coming here. May Allah bless you and forgives me for the honor of The Seal of Prophets (s). (Mawlana Shaykh stands and sits.)
Fatihah.
(42 minutes.) Between 40 and 50 minutes, (they are) stopping and closing. May Allah forgives us. How many people? (565) Mashaa-Allah, getting up, must be, making hearts of people to work. Sometimes people are falling down and doctors are making artificial breathing, then opening; that is making people to wake up, to wake up, to wake up, yes.
(Mawlana Shaykh speaks about Shakespearean English, laughs.)
